This article discusses how to allow clients to share hourly rates during the booking process. Admin can enable setting at the service level.
This optional feature allows clients to specify their preferred caregiver rate when booking a service that is set to pay the caregiver in Cash or Invoice. Clients can express their family rate, and caregivers have the flexibility to decide whether to accept the booking at the indicated amount. It's important to note that this setting is configurable at the service level and does not impact rate calculations.
Turning on the hourly rate configuration
To turn on the setting, go to your Agency Settings > Services > and select the service you want to edit or create a new service.
Caregiver Wages
A new field will appear below that line if you select "Invoice/payroll" or “Cash/cash” for caregiver wages. In this field, you can turn the toggle on or off for “Display caregiver hourly rate.” If you select “Credit Card/Auto-deposit” or “Credit Card/Payroll, " this field will not be visible.
You can leave this field toggled off if you do not want clients to list an hourly rate.
*Note: To avoid confusion for clients and caregivers, we recommend that caregiver rates remain at $0 at the service level when this setting is used.
Client Experience
Clients will see the caregiver's hourly rate on a few screens throughout a job’s lifecycle:
- Booking Flow: Displayed on the ‘Caregiver Notes’ screen.
- Booking Details Page: Shown after job creation.
- Checkout: Visible during the checkout process.
Caregiver Experience
Caregivers can view the shared hourly rate on the following screens:
- Job Request: Displayed when reviewing job requests.
- Booking Details Page: Visible during the booking details review.
- Checkout: Shown during the payment process.
Admin View
As an admin, you can view and modify the ‘Caregiver Hourly Rate’ in job details. To make modifications before the booking starts, choose Actions → Select ‘Modify Job’ → Update the caregiver hourly rate (with the option to notify clients) → Hit Save.
*Note: If a caregiver has already been assigned, they will automatically be notified of booking changes.
